Be Brave!!!

Hi all, today, I would like to continue my previous topic. But today, we talk about the technique of how to overcome fear of speaking in public. I believe that many of us, especially government employees ever faced with such problems. Many of us will push each other, if they are required to speak to the crowd although those who have served in the department. It's a bit embarrassing. Am i right?

Okey listen.. proper planning of a speech contributes greatly to speaking with confidence. Self-confidence comes as a natural consequence of thorough preparation. The method and techniques are designed to reduce our anxiety and manage our nervousness. These are communication orientation motivation (COM), Visualization, Systematic desensitization, cognitive restructuring, and public speaking skills training. Public speaking instructors are recommended several specific techniques to novice speaker. The first technique is allowed sufficient time to prepare then practice the speech aloud. The speaker needs to choose an appropriate time to speak and also use positive self-talk. The speaker needs to face the audience with confidence and focus on the message.

The speaker can be more confidence when he or she has developed an effective speech plan. Speech plan is a strategy for achieving your goal. An effective speech plan is the result of a six-step process; the first step is to select a speech goal that is appropriate for the audience and occasion. The second step is to understand your audience and adapt to it. The third step is to gather and evaluate information to use in the speech. The fourth step is to organize and develop ideas into a well-structured speech outline. The fifth step is to choose visual and other presentational aids that are appropriate for the audience. And the sixth step is to practice the speech until delivery is accurate, clear, vivid, appropriate, conversational, and animated.

For the conclusion, whichever way you decide to deliver your speech, this is the way you should practice. Practice to be prepared on facing the fear and apprehension. Practice needed until you have mastered it and feel comfort on it and until you can speak it naturally to self-confidence. Carefully planning and practicing a speech that is worthwhile to your audience will increase your poise so you can speak with confidence and be a more effective public speaker.
